Monday Musings and Apron Giveaway

I am finally back! I have taken several days off from the blogosphere while MDH and sons were off from work and out of school. MDH is still off and the boys are still out, but I am back. Our family will return to the regular daily grind next week. Meanwhile, I am missing my daily routine, thus here I am.

First thing – I have updated my blog’s appearance but I am experiencing some technical difficulty with the header. What I see may not be what you see as I have checked this site with other computers and the header looks different. I need your help. Please let me know what you see by choosing from one of the options below. You can list the letter in my comment section.

A – Off-white header background, a large pink carnation/with a green leaf, a couple other flowers and “Reading Rosie” in large font.

B – Blue or gray background header with “Reading Rosie” in large font.

C – Header is blank.

D - None of the above.

E - Zebras and Goldfish.

Okay, let us get on with stuff that is more important. How was your Holiday Season? Mine was great! Full of beautiful music, good food, great friends, loving family and all the other visions of sugarplums that make the season festive. I am very glad it is over! My decorations are down, the leftovers are gone, ugly sweaters returned, and new technology wired correctly. Life is good!

Did you make any New Year resolutions? I did not, although, I did set some goals for my blog. Up until now, this blog has not had a goal other than to entertain a few family members and myself. Therefore, I sat down one evening and wrote some goals. You know the, “Where do I want to go? What do I want to do? How do I get there?” type list. Here is what I accomplished:

1. Bring Glory to my Heavenly Father.
2. Keep a journal for my family.
3. Highlight some favorite books.
4. Use as an outlet for my creative energy.
5. Earn some extra cash.

I have done a decent job of reaching the first three goal; however, I could do better – much better – so I have room to grow in these areas. This blog is a great use of my creative energy. Actually, it eats up too much of my time and energy so maybe I need to step back from that area. Earning cash from this venue is a new area for me. I sew. I sew aprons. Aprons are popular. Therefore, I sew and sell aprons. Not rocket science, but still……I am stuck dumb about the selling part. Should I open an ETSY account or should I just sell from this site? Decision ---- start from here and see where it leads. So, as we say around here, “Lord willing and the creek don’t rise,” that is what I am going to do. But first I want to start the New Year off with a bang and have an apron giveaway. It is a cutie! See entry instructions to your right and a slide show of the apron.

I will be traveling tomorrow to see the Boston Celtics play basketball live and in person. This was our Christmas gift to Big C and Big I. They are about to explode with excitement! I hope to update later Tuesday night with pictures.

Thanks for reading, Rosie.

I see "A", flowers and Reading Rosie in large font.....do some computers *really* show zebras and goldfish? (I use Internet Explorer...I know some things look differently if you're using Firefox.)

I'm not sure about entering the contest. As much as I'd like to be picked by Oscar, I really don't need the apron. : )

I see A also. I have a mac and use Safari as my internet browser. Love the look.

I am totally kidding about the zebras and goldfish thing. :)

My ROSIE page had a pink flower with light background and all the other stuff you mentioned in "A"...so, I guess I got the real thing.

I can hardly wait to hear about the Celtics game...

And the aprons are terrific...I can't believe how imaginative you are in creating different ones!!!

Sorry to ruin your score here, but I'm still seeing 'B'. Keep in mind I have a very old and opinionated computer! Yes, I think computers can be opinionated and mine has a mind of its own with an occasionally evil personality. It's a love/hate relationship I have with my antiquated machine.

Does it seem way too selfish of me to ask to be entered in the drawing for the apron? If so, please eat this comment sheet (as we do bulletins at church with notes on them) and pretend it wasn't mentioned. If, on the other hand it isn't too selfish, enter me, Rosie! --Angie
